Are you considering a trip to Prague? Here’s all the information you need to navigate the visa application process smoothly:
Visa Waiver for UAE Passport Holders
If you're a citizen of the UAE, you can visit the Czech Republic (and the wider Schengen Area) for a duration of up to 90 days within any 180-day timeframe without needing a visa.
For UAE Residents Who Are Not Emirati Nationals
You will need to secure a Schengen tourist visa via VFS Global located in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
Required Documents
1. A completed and signed visa application form with a recent photo attached.
2. A valid passport that has at least three months (preferably six) of validity beyond your planned return date, along with two blank pages.
3. A return flight confirmation and a detailed travel itinerary.
4. Travel medical insurance that covers the Schengen area with a minimum coverage of €30,000, including repatriation.
5. Proof of accommodation, which can be a hotel reservation or an invitation letter.
6. Financial evidence such as bank statements showing you have adequate funds. Note: Czech authorities recommend having around €40 per day for stays up to 30 days.
7. For non-Emirati residents: a valid UAE residence visa that remains valid for at least three months after your return date.
8. If applicable, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer or proof of self-employment (like a trade license).
Application Process & Timeline
You can apply up to three months prior to your departure, but make sure to submit your application at least 15 days before your travel date.
Typically, processing takes about 15 calendar days, although it may take up to 30 days or, in exceptional cases, as long as 60 days.
Fees and Service Charges
The visa fee is approximately AED 312 (equivalent to €80), plus a service fee from VFS ranging from AED 99 to AED 120.

When entering, border officials may ask for:
- A valid travel document (your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your stay).
- Evidence supporting the purpose and conditions of your visit.
- Proof that you have sufficient funds for your stay and return journey.
