A Holiday Designed Just for You

France, Switzerland, and Italy are included in the Schengen Area, which permits seamless travel between these nations with just one visa. Starting June 18, 2025, residents of the UAE will need to complete their visa application online through VFS Global before they can schedule an appointment at the appropriate consulate or visa center.

Who Requires a Schengen Visa?

Citizens of the UAE: Can travel to Schengen countries without a visa for short visits lasting up to 90 days within a 180-day timeframe.

UAE Residents of Other Nationalities: Generally need to obtain a Schengen visa. Applications should be directed to the embassy or consulate of the country that serves as the primary destination for travel.

Application Steps

Online Application: Fill out the visa application form via the VFS Global website specific to your destination country. This step is essential before you can make an appointment.

Appointment Scheduling: Once the online application is submitted, arrange a visit at the relevant visa center (such as VFS Global) to provide biometric information and necessary documents.

Document Submission: Attend your scheduled appointment with all required paperwork, including your passport, photos, travel itinerary, accommodation details, travel insurance, proof of finances, and any other documents requested by the consulate.

Processing Duration: The visa processing period usually takes up to 15 calendar days. It’s recommended to apply well ahead of your intended travel date.

Necessary Documents

Valid Passport: Should remain valid for at least three months beyond your expected departure from the Schengen Area.

Photographs: Recent passport-sized photos that comply with Schengen visa photo standards.

Travel Itinerary: A comprehensive outline of your travel plans, including flight details and accommodation bookings.

Travel Insurance: Must provide coverage of at least €30,000 for medical emergencies, applicable throughout the Schengen Area.

Proof of Funds: Bank statements, salary slips, or sponsorship letters to verify that you have adequate financial resources for your trip.
